BAE Systems Shipyard site infrastructure improvements

http://IMG_7559.JPG £743m of new investment  is underway at Barrow shipyard to deliver Dreadnought, Astute and Future submarines through to the 2060s’.

The modernization of Barrow shipyard is now more than half way completed as part of a  “Foundations for the Future” programme.

BAE SYSTEMS also has a Master plan Framework for its longer term investment which envisages a wide range of  site infrastructure enhancements designed to deliver improved efficiency and predictability for the defence programmes it is engaged in delivering.

Morgan Sindall is delivering the D 58 and D 59 projects adjacent to Devonshire Dock Hall (DDH).Its work covers concrete pouring concrete structures, steelwork erectionand mechanical electrical fit out.

Graham Construction is delivering new ship-lift workshops and trolley stores on the SE side of DDH ,It is also involved at Walney Airport providing new hangar, control tower and associated facilities.

N.G. Bailey and W.T. Parker are delivering specialist electrical and mechanical outfitting.

Portacabin are providing accommodation.

Demolition is being delivered by MGL Ltd currently south of Michaelson Road Bridge on Buccleugh dock side.

Cap Gemini is assisting with IT delivery

Soon specialist firms will be coming in to deliver data centre facilities.
